House M.D. Episode Synopsis

When a six-year-old boy is brought in with the same symptoms as another patient who died years ago under House's care, House believes the cases are identical and he can predict the course of the boy's illness. Meanwhile, the clinic hosts a poker night to benefit the oncology department.

House M.D. Episode Plot Danglers

  • House knows exactly where to go to locate the file of the patient he "lost" many years before, even though there are thousands and thousands of such files in hundreds of faded, strewn-around boxes, in the archives - with no computer inventory. Had he looked at that file a number of times throughout the intervening years?
  • And if so, had this woman's long-ago death inspired him to save more patients? I think a series of flash-backs is overdue, hmmm? (Yes, I know - it's just a show.)

This House episode's best moments are...

Best Episode Moments
  • Wilson strains his brain in disbelief and possibly a touch of "House IS a demon!" as from distant parts of the hospital, and by telephone, House correctly "reads" the poker hands of both Wilson and Cuddy - and manipulates Wilson with the usual brand of truth and lies, to win or lose the hands, to facilitate a cunning plan (Hugh Laurie - Black Adder reference) that House is working on. A GREAT running joke.

House M.D. Episode's Best Quotes

    House Quotes
    • House via telephone: "You've got pocket nines, right?
Wilson looking wildly around to spot the camera or House's accomplice: "How the he... heck did you DO that?"

    • House: Is Cuddy fingering her brooch?
Wilson: Ah, I can see both of her hands, so I'd guess no.
