Relationship Stats
How they met: Chase was already working for House when Cameron started her fellowship. They met through the job.
How long were they together: In Season Two, Chase and Cameron had a one-night stand. Both stated that it should never happen again, but Chase implied that it probably would, saying that "when two people have sex, unless it sucks, if they can do it again, they're gonna do it again. And it didn't suck." Sure enough, Cameron came to Chase in Season Three and suggested that they start a no-strings-attached, friends with benefits sexual relationship. Cameron claimed he was her first choice because "of all the people I work with, you're the one I'm least likely to fall in love with." Despite her words, though, Chase and Cameron became very close in the months of their supposed sex-only relationship. During that time, Chase fell in love with Cameron and eventually admitted to her that he wanted more than just sex. He wanted them to be a real couple. Cameron, afraid of commitment and in denial of her feelings for Chase, rejected him & ended their sexual relationship altogether. Chase continued to gently pursue her, reminding Cameron every Tuesday that he liked her and wanted them to be together. When Chase was fired from House's team at the end of Season Three, Cameron handed in her letter of resignation and showed up on Chase's doorstep where, despite it being a Monday night, she told him that it was Tuesday and she didn't feel like waiting anymore. At the start of Season Four, the two are an official couple and remain so for the entire year. Season Five saw them struggle with issues of commitment, trust and unconditional love for one another. Their relationship nearly fell apart several times, but one of them always stood up in the end and fought for what they had together. In the Season Five episode "Saviors," Chase proposes to Cameron. The two were officially married in fifth season finale, "Both Sides Now."

Relationship Time Line - The Symptoms
Season 1
  • They discuss sex.
  • Chase is very obviously attracted to Cameron.

Season 2
  • They sleep together after Cameron takes meth that she confiscated from a patient.

Season 3
  • They decide to have "uncomplicated sex."
  • Chase falls in love with Cameron; she rejects him repeatedly when he reminds her of his feelings.
  • Chase is fired. Cameron realizes her feelings, tells Chase she wants to be with him. They kiss.

Season 4
  • They officially start dating between the third and fourth seasons.
  • Cameron won't tell Chase if she slept with House or not and he assumes that she did.
  • The relationship is rocky, but stable. They survive their first year as a couple intact.

Season 5

  • Cameron finally gives Chase a drawer at her apartment.
  • Chase plans a romantic vacation that Cameron postpones out of commitment fears. Chase breaks up with her.
  • The same day that Chase dumps Cameron, she admits to him that she found the ring & was simply scared. Chase proposes afterall.
  • Their wedding is nearly canceled due to doubts Cameron claimed to have, but Chase realized she was just afraid to completely let go of her dead husband. They reconcile.
  • In the season finale, "Both Sides Now" Chase and Cameron get married.

[Chase turns quickly.]

Cameron: "Don't get me wrong. I still think true love's out there it's just very far away. Possibly in another galaxy. We may need to develop faster than light travel before we can make contact." The two walk on a little farther and then she says, "So I'm thinking we should have sex."
Chase, confused "That makes sense."
Cameron: "Despite the wisdom of pop songs. there's no point in putting our lives on hold 'til love comes along. We're both healthy and busy people. We work together so it's convenient."
Chase: "Like microwave pizza?"
Cameron: "And of all the people I work with, you're the one I'm least likely to fall in love with.
Chase: "Like microwave pizza."
Cameron: "The point here is to make things simpler, not more complicated. Someday there will be time to get serious about someone. Meanwhile, we already had sex once and didn't get weird about it."
Chase: "I get it. I get it. So, what if I'm offended by your judgement."
Cameron: "Then you're not the man I'm looking for."

Cameron: "What did you want me to tell him? The truth?"
Chase: "No. You didn't have to be so convincing."
Cameron: [Smiles.] "Don't worry. I'll make it up to you."
Chase: "This is getting out of control."
Cameron: "Don't pout."
Chase: "Our patient woke up with an infection while we were getting our rocks off."
Cameron: [Leans in closer to Chase.] "Do you want to stop?"
Chase: "No. But I don't want to get caught either."
Cameron: "You think I do?"
Chase: "You certainly didn't go out of your way to keep the volume down while we were in the sleep lab."
Cameron: [Smiles.] "I couldn't help that... Why would I want to get caught?"
Chase: "Maybe you want to give House a reason to be jealous?"
Cameron: "I'm over House. All this is, is uncomplicated sex, don't try to make it more than that."
Chase: "We're not doing it at work anymore."
Cameron: "Fine." [Leans back, puts her glasses back on and starts reading one of the sheets of paper on the table. Chase sighs. Cameron looks back at Chase.] "Want to go grab some lunch?"

Chase: "We had sex in a patient's bedroom. A bedroom we were examining for toxins. Yeah, our judgment's right on the mark."
Cameron: "All right, no more sex at patient's homes. No more sex with cats watching. Anywhere else you wanna cross off the list?"

I think that Chase and Cameron will always have that relationship that they had, because I think that they know that it's one of the things that they cannot deny themselves at all. It's just one of the relationships that has blossomed, in a way, over the show, that I've sen between two people who work together, so good, and they have really great chemistry together. I think that there might be a marriage in their future.
