DR. ALLISON CAMERON, played by Jennifer Morrison
House M.D. Character ProfileHouse Character's Backstory: Dr. Allison Cameron was married to a man with terminal thyroid cancer who died six months after they got married, thereby making her a widow. She was aware of his cancer and prognosis but married him anyway because she was, as she says "in love".

Dr. Cameron appears to have come from what was from all appearances a normal middle-class family. She is intelligent, perceptive and an excellent (yet developing) medical practitioner.

When she practices medicine and is engaged in patient care, these tendencies fall away and her heart is more revealed. She is often at odds with House about things like ethics, morality, and common decency. She is often the advocate for the patient and always voices concerns about the interactions between House's tests and treatments and the patient's life. She tries to help people in the way that allows everyone to be able to move on and continue to live a normal life. She has a thing about caring for the heavyset people and that not all conditions are weight related for them. She cares for a lot of people for different reasons and, like the last sentence states, doesn't make it about the person's weight, height, orientation, or any other thing of that nature.

Cameron had a conversation with Foreman that made her get the idea of "Uncomplicated Sex." This was an action that happened between her and Dr. Robert Chase. He was already attracted to her and she didn't want a relationship. He decides to ask her to take it a step forword and she refuses and even calls off the sex they were having. He decides to remind her every Tuesday that he likes her. Every Tuesday for weeks he would just calmly say, "It's Tuesday...( in hope she would respond)...I like you." She just shrugged him off at this point and ignored the conversation.

Even though she ignored the situation it didn't mean that she didn't like him. After House fired Robert Chase, she put in her letter of resignation and quit her job on House's team. She then walked up to Robert Chase's door and talked to him. When he asked her why she was there she told him, "It's Tuesday." He corrected her that it was Monday. She said, "I didn't feel like waiting," and they kissed.

In Season four and five she worked in the ED (Emergency Department) and was still dating Robert Chase. Chase was working in the surgical department. She may interfere and trade banter with House. She still cares about the patients and loves what she does.

In the season 5 finale, episode 5.24 "Both Sides Now," Cameron and Chase got married.

UNFORGETTABLE HOUSE CHARACTER QUOTES
DEFINING HOUSE EPISODES | SCENES

  • "Sex could kill you. Do you know what the human body goes through when you have sex? Pupils dilate, arteries constrict, core temperature rises, heart races, blood pressure skyrockets, respiration becomes rapid and shallow, the brain fires bursts of electrical impulses from nowhere to nowhere, and secretions spit out of every gland, and the muscles tense and spasm like you're lifting three times your body weight. It's violent, it's ugly and it's messy, and if God hadn't made it unbelievably fun, the human race would have died out eons ago." (from Occam's Razor)
  • I still think true love's out there; it's just very far away. Possibly in another galaxy. We may need to develop faster than light travel before we can make contact.
  • You can't control your emotions...just your actions.
  • "I'm hitting that and it's totally hot."
House Season 1
  • "Maternity"- Baby died under Cameron's diagnosis
  • "Role Model"- Cameron quit her job so the problems with Edward Vogler would end and it would also be an easy way for her to deal with her feelings for House.
  • "Love Hurts"- Cameron comes back to the hospital under the circumstance that she and House would go on a date, which they do, but House tells Cameron that she only wanted to be with him so she could fix him.

  • "Sleeping Dogs Lie"- Cameron accuses Foreman of stealing her article which leaves her to be mad at Foreman.
  • "Euphoria Pt. 2"- Foreman confesses to Cameron that he stole her article as Cameron was inducing him into a coma. She later accepts Foreman's apology.
House Season 3
  • "Insensitive"- Cameron and Chase become closer when Cameron suggests that they should have sex.
  • "Top Secret" - Cameron and Chase sneak away multiple times to have sex.
  • "Act Your Age"- Because Chase broke "the rules", Cameron and Chase have a difficult workday, especially with a patient's 8- year old brother who constantly "competes" with Chase for Cameron.

Dr Cameron is one of the best, the fact that they've changed her character's placement and tendencies so much has kind of ruined everything for me...right now. I havn't seen enough to be able to make any final judgements yet lol
