"Huddy" - Because one night...

Relationship Stats

How they met: Hinted in Humpty Dumpty that they knew each other in college, when Cuddy was an undergrad.

How long were they together: They have never been together but have shared a past one night stand.

How they reunited: It was suggested in "Three Stories" that Cuddy was House's attending during his infarction. She created The Department of Diagnostic Medicine for him.

Relationship Time Line - The Symptoms

Season 1

In "Mob Rules" Cuddy tells Vogler that she doesn't hate House and protects him because he is an asset to the hospital. However, Vogler feels that Cuddy protects House because she likes him which is "bad for business."

In "Occam's Razor," after House and Cuddy have a blow out, Wilson asks House what is up between he and Cuddy. He proceeds to ask House if he has a thing for her. Wilson states to House in the exchange that, "The only people who can get to you..." However, he is cut off by House. What Wilson may have been suggesting is a mystery.

Upon hearing from Cameron that it was House's birthday in "The Socratic Method," Cuddy gets House a birthday card. However, she throws it out.

In "Control," Vogler asked Cuddy if she was sleeping with House. Insulted, Cuddy answers "no." Vogler continues by somewhat asking if she did a long time ago. Cuddy considers the question the "incredibly inappropriate" telling Vogler that she "respects him" and that is all that he needs to know. Yet, Cuddy never denies that she and House had a past relationship.

Season 2

In "Humpty Dumpty", Cuddy tells Cameron that she doesn't hate House while breaking into a patient's house.

Season 3

In "Insensitive" House notices that Cuddy had not worn her hat to work even though there was a huge snow storm outside. He quickly figures out she has a blind date that evening. He interrupts Cuddy when she is in middle of her date in a nearby coffee shop, claiming he needs a consult for his CIPA patient. He embarrasses her in front of her date, telling her loudly that Don (her date) is much better than her previous one. The same evening, House goes to her home, asking for a second consult. He figures out that despite his previous attempts at shooing Don off, Don was currently in Cuddy's house. When continually questioning her and making remarks about her, she confronts him about his motives, asking him challengingly " Do you like me, House?" to which he quickly looks away and does not answer. (No answer usually means "YES")

In "Top Secret" House DREAMS of this guy BEFORE he gets the case. So this guy is in House's subconscious from TWO years prior. And WHY? B/c he made out with Cuddy! How much more proof do we need that House is the biggest HUDDY/Cuddy obsession. Then Wilson says, "Are you looking for a RENEWED RELATIONSHIP with your dad?" NO, but he is subconsciously looking for a RENEWED RELATIONSHIP with his woman Cuddy. Cuddy herself busts him with, "You're lousy at faces." And he's so busted and knows it. He remembered the guy BECAUSE he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. After she says, "Get over me." he's immediately, "Oh give me a break, you hired me..." -- he's trying to tell her that he is cognizant of the fact that no matter how much she shoots him down and denies it -- she's just as in to him. Oh, one more thing.... the whole "I'm always here." That's when the camera shot morphs to where we start to realize it's his dream and a subconscious situation. She had the most gorgeous smile on her face. Half sexy, half just pure LOVE. And THAT is how he thinks of her in his subconscious. And I think she says something like he needs her to help him --- and we see that again in House's Head. of us all!? And then when Wilson said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Dreams are the minds way of working out it's problems" apparently House has some kind of problem dealing with his.

Season 4

In "Mirror Mirror" Wilson in his "alpha" moment with House suggests that House is trying to "impress" Cuddy. Why would House be doing that when he already knows that she is already impressed by his diagnostic prowess.

At the end of "Living the Dream" when Cuddy risks her job on House's theory, House calls her in the middle of the night to tell her the diagnosis proving her risk was worth it. At the end of the phone conversation, House wishes a, "Goodnight , Cuddy." This sentiment was unusual, because House is usually heard saying goodnight only to his best friend Wilson.

In "House's Head" we find Cuddy once again invading House's dreams *as she had in "Top Secret'*. This time as a Fantasy dressed in a very small school girl's outfit. Cuddy begins to do a strip tease. However, before it gets too risque Cuddy ends the fantasy stating that House would rather be diagnosing that watching her take off her clothes.

At the end of "Wilson's Heart" Cuddy spends the night at House's bedside, holding his hand as she sleeps and House lies away.

Season 5

Quotes

In Act Your Age: House to Cuddy: "Panty hamster get a spin on it's wheel?"

In Insensitive: Don to Cuddy: "You should hear yourself when your talking to him. Nothing else in the world's going on. You're focused, confident, compelling."

In Humpty Dumpty: House to Foreman: "Someone as obsessive and insecure as Cuddy probably has three extra keys hidden within ten feet of the floor."

In Humpty Dumpty: Cameron: "You both went to Michigan. Did you know him while you were there?"

Cuddy: "I was still an undergrad, but yes, I knew him. He was already a legend."

Cameron: "So you just knew him as a legend?"

Cuddy: My God you're subtle! Anything else on your mind?"

In Humpty Dumpty: Chase to House: "You two are just too nasty to each other not to have been...nasty."

In Top Secret: House: "You gave me anything I asked for because one night I gave you everything you..."

Cuddy: "Stop staring at my butt when you think I'm not looking, showing up at restaurants when I happen to be on a date and fantasizing about me in the shower. That ship sailed long ago House. Get over it."

Relationship Trivia

Was revealed to have had a one night stand before the series started - Season 3, Episode 16 "Top Secret"

House is the only person (until "Finding Judas") who knew about Cuddy wanting a baby and the in vitro.

I can't remember what episode it was, but Cuddy said that ship sailed a long time ago. Don't know about you, but that sounds to me like they at least tried to have a actual relationship. i could be wrong though...

So on the House and Cuddy relationship page it says that it Was revealed to have had a one night stand before the series started. When was this revealed and if it was right out there in the open why are there so many questions on weather they have hooked up or not? I didnt start watching house till 1/2 way through Season 4, I have since watched every episode at least once. Can someone tell me when this was revealed??

huddy in season 5

A lot of us are looking forward to some more action in season five with the huddy paring. If you are one of those fans, what do you think will happen with these two? Will they have a deeper relationship, will House be capable of having a relationship? As the season unfolds will there be a change? Or will House and Cuddy continue with the flirtatious/ rivalry like actions of the previous seasons? Were the possible hints of their friendship in the season 4 finale episodes significant? What will happen?? Ideas?? please share!
