SUBMITTED BY: EGUY | JESSE SPENCER'S FAMILY ACCEPTS THAT HE IS MERELY AN ACTOR, NOT A DOCTOR
October 29, 2009
It's taken a while, but Jesse Spencer's family has come to terms with his career as a professional actor.
Spencer is from a family of doctors, and was always planning to be a M.D. However, acting got in the way.
Spencer's family has come to terms with it because at least he's playing a doctor on TV.
“My father’s a GP (general practitioner), my eldest brother is an ophthalmologist, my other brother is an orthopaedic surgeon and my sister just got into anaesthetics." Spencer says. "I was aiming to go to university, then go to med (medical) school but I realized I could make a better living from acting. It’s turned out all right and I’m still a doctor!”
On a related tangent, Patrick Dempsey was on Regis and Kelly this week talking about this very subject. Kelly asked McDempsey if he would be able to save her if something happened. Watch what he says: [at minute 2:14]

LISA EDELSTEIN GIVES HINTS ABOUT JENNIFER MORRISON'S FUTURE WITH HOUSE
October 27, 2009
Lisa Edelstein says that the cast of House were upset over the announcement of Jennifer Morrison’s departure. However, what's next for Morrison? Will she ever come back? Executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs are hesitant to say that this will be the end of Morrison's part on House. In fact, they insist that a Cameron's permanent absence is a rumor. “I think [Cameron's departure] will tighten up the team a little bit,” Edelestein told E! Online. “We were all sad. I don’t think she’s gone for good. They say she’s going to be coming and going.”
Do you think the producers will bring Jennifer Morrison's character back?
| LISA EDELSTEIN IN LARAMIE PROJECT SEQUEL
October 26, 2009
This past weekend, Lisa Edelstein and many other celebrities were in the sequel to The Laramie Project titled The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later - An Epilogue. The original play, The Laramie Project, was based on the reactions of people in Laramie, WY, after Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old gay college student, was murdered there in 1998.
The new production revisits the residents of Laramie a decade later and also portrays an interview with one of Shepard's killers.
Edelstein performed at the Hollywood United Methodist Church (HUMC) on Sunday Oct. 25. Other celebrity performers included Zachary Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek), Pauley Perrette (NCIS), James Cromwell (Surrogates, Babe), Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory), Johnny Galecki (Big Bang Theory), Julie Benz (Dexter), Lisa Edelstein (House), Barrett Foa (NCIS: Los Angeles), Emmy Award-winner Christian Clemenson (Boston Legal) and Helen Shaver (Desert Hearts, The 4400). The play was performed to raise awareness and money for Matthew Shepard Foundation, which promotes anti-violence toward the gay and lesbian community.
The epilogue to The Laramie Project also arrived around the time that the expanded federal hate crimes law was sent to Obama to sign. Though Obama hasn't signed it yet, he has promised to sign the bill. The measure is named for Matthew Shepard, and James Byrd Jr., an African-American man dragged to death in Texas the same year that Shepard was killed. | ENTER CONTEST FOR A CHANCE TO GO TO NY AND MEET OLIVIA WILDE

October 20, 2009 Olivia Wilde talked to MTV while stumping for her new movie Tron Legacy. Wilde said she hopes to be a character that little girls everywhere imitate.
"When I was little, I wanted to be Wonder Woman," Wilde told MTV News. "And the real Wonder Woman lived on our block. So I used to go and knock on her door in my Wonder Woman costume with the cuffs and the boots, and hope that she would recognize that I was her protege and bring me up as Wonder Girl."
"It never happened, probably because every little girl showed up at her house as Wonder Woman," she laughed. SUBMITTED BY: EGUY | HUGH LAURIE 'UPSET' OVER PLOT LEAKS FOR HOUSE
October 19, 2009
Everybody gossips.
Hugh Laurie says he feels betrayed by whomever has leaked upcoming storylines for House, specifically the part of the plot that involves Jennifer Morrison.
Apparently, Laurie is baffled because the crew who works on House is supposed to be tightly-knit.
He said: "It's a bit upsetting that someone in our midst who we think of as a friend and ally is selling us out."
One cause of the problem, however, could be that the cast for upcoming episodes gets posted online. It's not hard to figure out that something might be happening to a character on the show when they are only slated for a few episodes of the season.

October 16, 2009
Olivia Wilde can't seem to stay out of the news lately. Most recently, Wilde wrote an article for USA Today about a project she is working on called Power Up Gambia. Here's an excerpt:
“Beyond reducing our carbon footprints, I learned that using the power of solar technology is the best path toward a cleaner and more responsible future,” she writes. “After years of supporting environmental and humanitarian aid groups, I was elated to discover one grass-roots organization tackling both issues at once.” “I learned about Power Up Gambia two years ago when I presented an award to its founder, Kathryn Cunningham Hall. The concept was brilliant: outfitting hospitals and clinics in Gambia with solar panels to generate the electricity needed to provide medical care.” In the article, Wilde also explains how doctors benefiting from the solar charity can now perform operations by light rather than candlelight.
It's always nice to see celebrities supporting good causes for those less fortunate.

October 15, 2009 It's hard to remember that Hugh Laurie had a career before House. He really is one talented individual. In the following video, he sings his Protest Song on the BBC comedy sketch show A Bit of Fry and Laurie. He performs in the style of Bob Dylan, mumbling and all. The video shows that he can sing, play guitar, play harmonica, do an American accent and be funny all at the same time. Is there anything this guy can't do?

October 12, 2009On the heels of an INSANE episode of House last week, the storyline and consequences are carried into this week with an episode fittingly titled Instant Karma. A wealthy businessman brings his teenage son, who is suffering from inexplicable stomach pains, to Princeton Plainsboro and insists on having Dr. House handle the case. The father of the patient believes the karmic penalty of his financial success is that he is victim to personal tragedy, and that the answer to his son’s medical mystery lies in a reverse of fate rather than medical treatment. Meanwhile, Foreman and Chase prepare to present information on the Dibala case.

| Holy hotness! Talk about killing two birds with one strip club. Fox put together a new mashup promo called Welcome to the Club that combines scenes from previous episodes of House, Bones, Fringe, Lie to Me and Dollhouse. The clips are put together beautifully, and if you didn't know better, you would think it was all the same scene.
So, lemmegethisstraight, all of these shows have had a scene in a strip club? Fringe and Dollhouse just started their 2nd year! | Perhaps it's a right of passage for Fox shows, but whateve, it worked well and was a creative way to be cost effective. High-five, Fox! Enjoy the video.

SUBMITTED BY: EGUY | LISA EDELSTEIN TALKS ABOUT JENNIFER LEAVING
October 8, 2009
Apparently, the producers of House didn't let even the cast know that Jennifer is leaving.
Case in point, E! News caught up with costar Lisa Edelstein a and she found out in a less-than-optimal way.
Lisa told E! “Jennifer is an incredibly gracious, professional, sweet, lovely woman and I hadn’t the faintest idea until I said something really dumb on set because I didn’t know. But I can’t really tell you what I said, because it has to do with a storyline that hasn’t come out yet. But essentially [it was] ‘How come your character keeps leaving and coming back?’ as a joke. I had no idea. I was the last person to know. That’s because she was just so incredibly professional and did her job and never let on to anyone what was going on. It was pretty impressive. She will be missed, I don’t think she’s going to have any trouble, so I’m not worried about her.”
SUBMITTED BY: EGUY | LISA EDELSTEIN INTERVIEWS WITH GRAZIA MAGAZINE
October 7, 2009
Lisa Edelstein did a recent interview about House with Grazia magazine in Roma, Italy. Lucky us, someone out there in the interwebs translated it into English. Here's the translation:
In season 5, House and Cuddy kissed. Will they be together in the future? Well, writers really don't tell us, usually journalists know more than we do. Of course they share more than an attraction: I think they share a deep love, but with an inability to let go. I'd like to see their relationship grow.
You said you give a lot to the character. What exactly? Lisa is an intelligent woman, strong and responsible. But I don't want to see her as the caricature of a working woman, who spends all the time in the office. I have a sister who works in a workplace ruled by men, and she tells me that it is difficult for a woman emerge. Sometimes they end up looking like their male colleagues. This is why I decided to accentuate the sexy side of Cuddy.
I see you're really involved. Yes, this character is a part of me. I want to have control over everything, just like her. I'm a perfectionist. But unlike her, I can let go and fall in love until I lose my mind. I've loved many men, I don't have a prototype. I just want to feel safe.
Let's talk about Hugh Laurie. He's intelligent and talented, and he can really do teamwork. So different from his character. But like House, he is a great worker: if writers tells him "House will have to play a trumpet," he gets lessons and he plays the trumpet! I really have fun with him.
I'm curious about how the 13 writers find so many cases. They work on medical books, looking for rare pathologies that look like common diseases. But many doctor fans of the show report complicated cases telling us how they found solutions and how they discovered the "lies" of their patients.
Is it like a chase? Exactly. Just like in real life: when we can't find a solution to a problem, it's because we're not considering all the elements, or we're looking at things from the wrong perspective. We are not like Sherlock Holmes.

SUBMITTED BY: EGUY | CALLING DR. HOUSE, PLEASE REPORT TO MY HOSPITAL ROOM
October 6, 2009
More patients are expecting doctors to be more like Gregory House. Not that patients are expecting the rough abuse of a typical House interaction, but they are expecting the same treatment for rare diseases.
According to kevinmd.com, a medical blog, more patients are expecting the fierce problem solving and focus that House and his team provide for rare diseases, including copious amounts of expensive and usually unnecessary testing. Patients aren't accounting for the fact that doctors have numerous patients and numerous cases, and most hospitals couldn't begin to afford House's team.
Also, doctors are seeing more patients who've seen a condition on House and have diagnosed themselves.
Another thing is that rare diseases usually take years to diagnose, which is unfortunate but a reality. House sets the expectation that rare diseases can be diagnosed in a rather short hospital stay.
Nice going House. Why don't you just send hate mail to all the doctors in America? Just kidding. We love you House, no matter how many physicians you p**** off.

SEPTEMBER 30, 2009
Jesse Spencer, our beloved Dr. Chase, says he "totally gets" why Hugh Laurie is a heartthrob in the States.
He can't answer for the British though. Spencer, who is from Australia, he says that British fans find it hard to get their heads around the ex-Blackadder star's sex symbol status.
Jesse said: "It's so foreign for the English - they're like, 'Hugh Laurie what? He's a heartthrob? How's that even possible?'"
As a Blackadder fan, I'm with Jesse. When I heard Hugh Laurie was the lead in House, I was like "It's a comedy?"
Case in point, Hugh Laurie is H I L A R I O U S in this episode of Blackadder. Laurie plays George, a soldier in the British Army during WWII. To give some context around the scene, the soldiers are putting on a talent show to boost the men's morale. George decides to perform in drag as "Georgina," and unintentionally garners attention from the general who thinks George is a woman. Edmond Blackadder relays the message to George that General Melchett wants a date:

****SPOILER ALERT FOR HOUSE STORYLINE**** SEPTEMBER 29, 2009
Dear Jennifer Morrison/Cameron, Why must you leave us? Say it ain't so! How could this happen?!?!
Word on the street is that Jennifer Morrison will be leaving House. If the rumors are true, Morrison will be the first member of the original cast to leave the show.
TV Guide Magazine spoke exclusively with the show’s executive producer, Katie Jacobs, who said: "There is a story coming that has a major consequence for Cameron and a direct impact on her role on House’s team and on her marriage [to Dr. Chase, played by Jesse Spencer],” Jacobs acknowledged. The storyline begins after a visiting African dictator, played by James Earl Jones, receives a controversial treatment at Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital in the October 5 episode. “Cameron’s reaction [to the situation] is that she needs to separate from her husband and marriage and proximity from the hospital,” Jacobs explained.
What could he have done that was bad enough to split up a newly-wedded couple? Also, this means that "Chameron" is only "Ch."
So let's do the tally.
At the moment, Thirteen is really fired by Foreman, Taub is resigning, and Cameron is leaving. What are the producers doing? Assuming that Thirteen and Taub stay, what could be the reasons for Morrison leaving? Here are some theories:
1. Contract disputes. However, that usually happens before a season starts, not mid-season.
2. Conflict with someone in the cast or crew. Jennifer Morrison was engaged to Jesse Spencer briefly in 2007. Can we say awwwwkkkwaaard? But Jacobs denies anything of the sort, which brings us to:
3. Jacobs says it's a creative choice because that's where the storyline is going. Right. Someone's job is on the line and the writer's were like "why don't we just write them out of the script?" Writing someone out of a script usually has more of a reason behind it than just creative license, especially since Cameron and Chase are popular characters. And mid-season? Creative choice sounds like B.S. to me.
4. She could be pulling a Shelley Long--- giving up a hit TV show like Long did with Cheers, to pursue a movie career. Didn't work so well for Shelley Long. I doubt anyone remembers Troop Beverly Hills.
5. She's not really leaving. She bows out for several episodes, but comes back as a surprise. Surprise! It's a character that never should have left! Ta-da!
Give your theory about why you think Jennifer Morrison is leaving.
