5/19/08 epidose, er, episode. Okay it was a pun I couldn't resist.
May 20 2008, 8:56 PM EDT I think the ENTIRE episode will turn out to have been an hallucination. First of all, House's calling for someone to pick him up at a bar was WAY out of character for him. He would have called a TAXI, not a friend. He may have bad habits, but he generally prefers to practice them on his own! He's not DEPENDENT on people in that ordinary way, except when he is. And needing someone to pick him up when drunk is too ordinary and mundane a task for House to relate to. So the entire episode is based on an erroneous premise. I'll bet anything the whole episode will be undone with a pat explanation. Anyway, poetic justice in this episode would have been to have had the victim need all new organs, which House would provide when hIs brain would self destruct. However, we all LOVE HOUSE TOO MUCH FOR THAT to happen. So...I say the whole incredible episode will prove to be an hallucination. But of course, a magnificent one. What do you all think? 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 21 2008, 8:57 AM EDT "That seems highly unlikely."Excuse me. You think MY premise is unlikely, but what went on in that episode was "LIKELY??" Why would a physician take that particular flu medicine with all its toxic potential, when Oscillococcinum (the number #1 flu remedy in Europe for over 65 years and now available here in the US at any CVS or most supermarkets!) is totally non-toxic, extremely effective in the early stages of flu, and readily available? Further, she was only in the early sneezing stage. She did not sound or appear ill, she was not feverish, or sick in any way. There was nothing in her demeanor to suggest that she was sick enough to have been sufficiently ill to have had a PRESCRIPTION FILLED, much less sufficeintly ill in the previous hours to have gone to the hospital pharmacy for a prescription. And if she was only sneezing, why would she suspect FLU?? Her whole flu and dosage story thread is unlikey. The last time you were coming down with flu (as opposed to the sniffles) were you well enough to drive downtown to pick someone up? Flu usually hits with a vengeance. If YOU (God forbid) had flu, wouldn't you have called House on his cell phone, told him Wilson was at the hospital, that you were sick, and to call a cab? Do you find this valuable? |

May 21 2008, 9:11 AM EDT Calm down everyone has their own opinion! You make some good points but according to spoilers I dont think it is a hallucination. It would be nice if it had been though Do you find this valuable? |

May 29 2008, 10:56 AM EDT i do not think that this was an hallucination.it is ,in my opinion, not that kind of show like dallas in which something that is not well "digested" by the public is explained by a dream or a hallucination. i think that this is like a test for the friendship of those two( h &w).on one hand you have house's guilt and on the other his sacrifice and i think that it is up to wilson to decide if house is still his friend .and i think he had made that decision Do you find this valuable? |

I do like and appreciate your perspectives. I also very much agree that with the whole thing NOT being an hallucination, then you are totally correct that it is a huge test of love and friendship. The hugest kind of test. This happens. Close neighbors accidentally run over a neighbor's child in a driveway, or one friend driving causes the death of another. This is reality. However, I still have to maintain that there were too many weird loose ends in the scenario, like those weird flu pills that you know no one in the just sneezing stage would have taken. The whole premise was built on that, and that, in my opinion, is just too weak and unplausible. But as a test of friendship and love, I can accept this story line. And I thank you for reminding me to focus on the significance of that part of the story, and not on the idiocies in the premise that I felt were beneath the usual standards of HOUSE. Best, June Do you find this valuable? |

May 29 2008, 11:41 AM EDT i think that doctors are a bit more carefull .i really think that as a doctor you tend to take pills because you know that it is best to prevent than to cure(take some pills in the begining of a flu so that you wouldn't get worse with the flu.)and those pills were toxic only after the crash destroyed her kidneys and the amantadine ( that was in those pills)couldn't be filterd Do you find this valuable? |
