I don't believe Kutner was murdered. It would take away from the seriousness of the episode and the message that was given at the end for suicide prevention.Kal Penn asked to leave the show so he could work for President Obama like he did during campaign. There's a link to a lengthy interview of him that can be found on the main House page. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"The worst thing about killing off Kutner that now it is unlikely that they will kill off Thirteen. Is it possible to put out a hit on a television character?"Why can't they kill off BOTH, I mean you still have the Chris Taub wishing to leave and even if Hadley isn't killed off there must be a way to put her in for more care specific role as her Huntington's disease progresses ... take a voyage of discovery around the world, join a missionary ... something. My bloodlust for her death has wained I'd be happy enough for her to go far far away. Sack Taub, Dispose of Thirteen, bring back Cole, the CIA doctor and the Old guy!!!! Do you find this valuable? |

I agree the Taub character needs to resolve his issues being on the team. His repressed anger for working with House and his little man desire to be the boss can only go on fo rso long. 13 needs to take a hike> I agree with berlnknives, abouyt time she took to treating herself. House has a problem and struggle to maintain his diminishing abilities will lead to a wonderful mid life cisis. Consumate the Huddy. Out Wilson.

To all who have called this a bad move and out of character for Kutner, I'm glad y'all don't write the show.First of all, it was a great move. Sure, it'll drive up ratings, but it goes way beyond that. Suicide is an issue that doesn't get taken on as much as it should, and it's a good thing that it's being dealt with in a show that's as much a part of popular culture as this one. It's a great way to reach people, and as sad a reflection on society as that may be, it's just a fact. This is a good move, just like it was a good move when the West Wing writers gave the President MS and gave Josh Lyman PTSD. Events like this get people thinking about things they probably should have been thinking about already. As for it being out of character for Kutner, suicide is too often out of character. Very rarely do people see it coming, because when they do, they often are able to prevent it. I've known people for whom suicide would have been "in character." We'll never really know, but it's very possible that the only reason they're here today is because their friends and family picked up on the warning signs and got help. Sadly, many people don't show any of the signs and you have no idea they're even hurting until you get that phone call with a wavering voice saying "hey, your friend is dead. I'm so sorry." So yeah, it was completely out of character for Kutner. Just like it was out of character for so many people who aren't here today. Do you find this valuable? |

I was very shocked by this episode. Never expected Kutner to be off the show. He was a solid character. Very disappointing. He will be missed.

The actor Kal Penn got a job working in the white house and had to leave the show. I just wish they could have killed him off some other way. Sucide is just too sad

"Unless they do like 6 more seasons, no, she won't die"She doesn't HAVE to die from Huntington's you know! :S Plus all those drugs and stuff she's been taking recreationally and the stuff she was forced to take ... that's bound to have done some lasting damage, dialysis or not. I DVR my House episodes - the only show I watch on TV...I'm so mad and sad right now. I had to look on IMDB to see if Kal Penn died or something. This show was done like one where a cast member dies unexpectedly. Kal's rating on IMDB is up over 1700% because of this episode. I'm glad he's not dead, but wish the the writers could have "eased" him out of the show instead of doing a suicide. Certainly there was at least a 2 weeks notice given when Kal resigned??? I don't know who to be more angry at, the writers or Kal (or Obama)!?

actually Kal Penn told the writers months ago that he might leave the show to go into politics... He got a job with the Obama administration and that's why the writers wrote him out so abruptly

"They killed Kutner!!! *Sobs* "I feel exactly the same way. I'm upset about it. Less than 2 years ago one of my cousins committed suicide also by gunshot. I think what upset me about it in particular was Kutner being my favorite "new" character and I have been disappointed that Kutner's personality and life were not more revealed to us, and had been hoping they would show more and we would get to know him better. Truly, I'm not sure if I will continue to watch HOUSE after this season. Who knows if the show has more than another season left in it? I am a newcomer to the show. I was aware of it for years and dismissed it as I did not like the ads for the show. I started watching the reruns on USA late last fall, so I have essentially been hit by all 5 seasons of House MD in the last 5 months. I only started watching current episodes on FOX quite recently. As much as I LOVED the show for awhile, I'm starting to be hit by everything I think is a flaw in the show, and that list is legion. I'm remembering everything I didn't like about the ads when the show was new, and then some. I think the shows GREAT STRENGTHS are some good basic concepts, some great casting overall, and phenomenal casting with Hugh Laurie. Other than that, I'm finding myself feeling edgy when the show comes on and down after I watch it. I think it's taken a wrong turn a long time ago, and recently we were hit with House FINALLY discovering methadone which HELPED him and then he threw it away for what to me sounded like a contrived reason. The problems with the methadone could well have been fixed by a lower dose. NOW we were hit by Kutner, a dear, sweet character, suddenly committing suicide! The overall tone of the show has leaned more and more on how miserable House is as well as everyone around him, how unfixable it seems to be, and I think the idea has gone in the wrong direction and run into the ground. i think they did that cause he had(or wanted) to leave the show. it happens all the time. on ANY tv show, when a main character's actor has to quite that show, the writers have him end up dead.................
